The Make Product Day Event in Tenderhearts Schools Aba on the 28th of June 2024 was designed to ignite creativity and entrepreneurial spirit among students, emphasising the importance of practical skills in everyday life. This initiative not only aimed to inspire innovation but also provided students with hands-on experience in understanding the chemistry behind common household products.
Disinfectants and antiseptics, staples in our homes, were the focal points of this event. Students examined the chemistry of these products, gaining insight into their composition and functionality. A key highlight was the in-depth study of Dettol, where students explored the active chemical substances such as pine oil, Chloroxylenol, and Isopropyl Alcohol, understanding their roles and effectiveness.
Beyond a simple showcase, the event empowered students to produce bleach and Dettol at home, reinforcing the practicality of their newfound knowledge. It demonstrated how everyday tools can be harnessed to enable enterprise and creativity, equipping students with skills to be resourceful and innovative in society.
The Make Product Day Event was not just about making products; it was a celebration of hands-on learning and a testament to the power of education in nurturing the next generation of creative and enterprising individuals.
